My name is Atef, and I’m a father of three beautiful daughters—Alma (6), Aisha (5), and little Elaine (1). Before the war, I worked for the Ministry of Education, dedicated to helping build a future for Gaza’s children. But now, I’m struggling just to keep my own children alive.
We used to live in the north of Gaza, but when it was declared a combat zone, we were forced to flee. Our home was destroyed, and we sought shelter in the south. But even there, we weren’t safe. The army bombed the house next to where we were staying. The blast injured my daughters and my wife, who was pregnant at the time. Since then, everything has collapsed around us.
We now live in a tent in Khan Younis. My children are cold, hungry, and traumatised. My wife still suffers from her injuries, and we’ve had no access to proper medical treatment. I can no longer provide the safety and stability they once had. We are doing everything we can to survive, but it’s not enough.
I am asking for your support to help us afford:
